Lavender plants
A lavender plant is a beautiful and versatile gift to yourself or a friend!
Our lavender plants are available in plastic containers and are for sale at R60 per plant or in plastic bags at R40 - R55 depending on the size.
Lavender thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and is highly drought-tolerant once established. It prefers low humidity and benefits from regular pruning after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth.
Lavender is excellent for hedging, mass planting, and large containers. Ideal for dried lavender, potpourri, sachets, and essential oil production, culinary and aromatherapy uses. Also attractive to bees and pollinators.
We have the following species available:
French Lavender (Lavandula dentata)
A fragrant, evergreen shrub recognised by its soft grey-green, serrated leaves and light purple flowers. It has a mild, slightly herbaceous scent and flowers over an extended period in our warm South African climate.
It grows 60–80 cm high and should be spaced 30–50 cm apart for compact hedges.
Lavandula × intermedia ‘Margaret Roberts’
The Margaret Roberts variety is registered in South Africa. It is a vigorous, evergreen lavender with long flower spikes and a strong, fresh fragrance. This variety produces soft mauve-purple blooms and is well known for its exceptional oil content and robust growth.
It grows to approximately 80–120 cm high and wide and can be spaced 50–100 cm apart to allow for airflow and full development.
